Want To Hear Something Funny?

There are a few people who live in this house who are big Yankee fans. Jack is one of them.

So, a few weeks ago, Jack was talking to Dan about a few of the Yankee players. Jack says to Dan, "You know George Padosa?".

Dan said, "Who?".

"George Padosa".

Dan said, "Do you mean Jorge Posada?"

Jack says, "Yeah, I guess so. You know, the catcher".

ROTFLMAO! Kids are so cute....

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me

The fevers are back.

This all started exactly one week ago today.

Cut me a break, seriously.

Beer Night

Tonight, Meg is going to have a few beers. This was such a long week.

Today, there are five kiddos home. Jack is the only one that went to school. I *could* have sent Sam, Will and Libby, but really, what would have been the point? Besides, this gives them a few days to *really* get better so that we can start a normal week on Monday (what is 'normal', anyway?).

I worked the past two nights. I do like my job, but it's hard to work knowing there are kiddos at home that don't feel very well.

OH!! BUYER BEWARE! Okay, so I had a patient last night with a red, angry, rapidly spreading infection on her inner thighs. I took care of her on Tuesday also. Last night, I asked her how she thinks the infection started.

So, apparently, she went to a craft fair (first mistake). There was a vendor there selling some type of tape that is "the new hot item" for athletes to buy (it's like a tape material). She said a roll that came packaged in plastic was expensive, so the vendor offered to sell her a few strips that were already opened at a lower cost (second VERY BIG mistake). She used a strip or two (third BIGGEST mistake). Within a few days, the infection on her leg started.

Now, she has MRSA (something you totally don't want...google it if you don't believe me).

Needless to say, don't buy opened goods and then use them. Better yet, don't buy anything from a craft fair....you never know how things are treated, cooked, stored or made. YUCKY!

October 22nd

This is an ironic date.

Today was not only Anne's due date, it was also Evan's conception date.

Not that any of you needed to know this, but it's ironic.

The Ties That Bind

I've come to a crossroad that has made me sad.

I am seriously debating to wean Evan and put him on formula full time. Work hasn't been going as well as I had first expected and the added stress has killed my milk supply. He is formula fed 50% of the time anyway, so what does it matter? It's a sad thought for me though, I nursed all of my babies. Evan is the last and I wanted to enjoy nursing him for as long as possible, but it doesn't look as if things will turn out that way.

The saying, "The grass isn't greener on the other side", couldn't be more of the truth. I am seriously debating whether or not the medical field is really for me. I'm 32 years old and can't find my 'niche'. How pathetic.

It is difficult being a mother of a large family. Most of us have to work to help provide for the family. I keep telling myself that is why I am torturing myself with this job, but then there is a part of me that feels guilty and sad for leaving my kids while many of them are so little.

Tomorrow is another day. Let's hope it's better.

Still Hell..

Libby woke up this morning at 5:30am throwing up all over the living room floor.

Nice start to the week, huh?

I'm In Hell

Nothing like 3 (really) sick kids to end a nice weekend.

Will threw up all over the lower level right before bedtime.

Sam developed a fever around 6pm.

And Evan has his own funky stomach thing going on right with a (not so) low grade of 100.4.

On a better note, Libby was able to ride a horse for the first time yesterday at the pumpkin patch! Dan and his father took the four oldest and they all had a blast! We carved pumpkins yesterday afternoon and the kids loved it!

Will scored three goals at his soccer game Saturday and Sam scored one goal at his game also on Saturday morning.

Oh! And since a lot of people have been asking me how I feel about the whole Jon and Kate situation here is my answer: I could care LESS.

New Preschool!!

Libby will be starting a new preschool in January!

King of Kings is much closer to the house and has a fabulous program. She is going to love it!

I will miss the current preschool. We have been there since Jack was two and a half. We know everyone there and my children have had a good experience, but it's time for a change.

This is so super exciting!

How Could I Forget??

Yesterday, October 15th was dedicated to the awareness of pregnancy and infant loss.

I can't believe I missed it.

TeeHee!

Yep, I sent Libby to school today, runny nose and all.

I told you I was going to do it. And I did. I'm not saying it was right, and I totally don't normally do it, and I know karma is a bitch, but it felt kinda good.

The "Problem" with Having a Large Family...

...Is this...

When you send your four year old daughter to preschool and another ignorant parent also sends their very sick four year old to preschool, your four year old then comes home, gets sick, and shares it with at least two to three of the other kids at home.

I don't get why parents can't keep their kids home when they are sick. I get that preschool does cost (a lot) of money, but cut me a break.

So now, Libby, Anne and Evan aren't feeling well.

I think I'll send Libby to school on Monday, runny nose and all, to share a few germs. Take that bitches.

Anne Turns Two (Now and Then)

Wow, the years are flying by. It really doesn't feel as if she should be two years old. It feels as if it were just yesterday that she was born. We are making cupcakes now and despite the rain, we are going to have a fabulous day!

12 Weeks!

Sam took this picture of Evan the other night.

Evan finally found his thumb. Mr. Thumb and Evan have become great friends.

I'm Moving to Newport

http://www.rirealestate.com/property/3052678/75_GRAY_CRAIG_RD_Middletown_RI_02842

I just love these old homes. They are so elegant and magnificent. The Newport (RI) area is filled with them. One after another. I don't think I could ever live in one, but I love to see the beautiful craftsmanship. There isn't anything like this in St. Louis....not even close. Dan and I spent a lot of time in Newport back in the day. *Sigh*, I miss it desperately.

Stroke City

So last night Evan had, to what appeared to be, a 10-15 second seizure. I almost hit the floor. It was so scary to watch. I had laid him on my lap to nurse him and his head and left leg just started...how do I describe it.....jerking.

So Meg freaks. Big time.

When the night was said and done, The Doctor isn't sure whether he had a seizure, or if it was due to his immature neuro system.

We now have to really watch him and call the pediatrician every time this happens (or let's just pray that is doesn't because it's pretty messed up to watch).

Good god, I am going to be completely gray by the time this child is five years old.
